Between Italy and the Caribbean: A Journey of Color, Culture, and Heart.

Between Italy and the Caribbean: A Journey of Color, Culture, and Heart.

I often say that art is not something you create; it’s something that filters through you. My photography, my aesthetic, and even my way of seeing light and shadow come from a lifetime of colors, cultures, and emotions that shaped me across continents.

I was born and raised in Florence, Italy, a city where art breathes in the walls and every sunset feels like a lesson from the Renaissance. My family’s roots are deep in the creative soil of that city. My grandfather Daniele and my brother who carries his name are both celebrated artists, their hands moving with that same Italian rhythm of passion and precision I inherited. Florence taught me discipline, harmony, and an endless respect for beauty.

But life, as always, had more to show me. After years traveling around Europe and living in New York, I eventually found my true home in South Florida, a place that blends worlds. Here, under the same sun that warms both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean, cultures and languages collide in a vibrant symphony.

Miami became more than a home; it became the bridge between my Italian roots and the heartbeat of the Caribbean. It’s here that I met my beautiful wife, Ruthie, whose Haitian family embraced me with open arms. They gave me a home that glows with laughter, respect, and unshakable faith, values that feel so familiar to me, echoing the very foundations of Italian family life.

Through Ruthie and her parents, I discovered the richness of Haitian culture: the bright bursts of flavor in their cuisine, the music that carries the joy and sorrow of generations, and the profound sense of belonging that transcends place. In their warmth, I saw reflections of my own upbringing, the Sunday dinners, the deep respect for elders, the love that holds families together like art holds a canvas.

My travels through the Caribbean, from the crystalline shores of Turks and Caicos to the lush mountains of Jamaica, continue to shape my creative vision. Over the years, I have also been fortunate to visit Asia, spending time in Hong Kong and China, where I discovered a different kind of energy, a harmony between modern precision and timeless tradition that influenced my artistic perspective. Among my favorite memories are moments spent during Carnival in Barbados and St. Kitts, and many celebrations here in South Florida, dancing and “jumping” to the rhythm of Soca music. That joyful spirit, full of color and connection, perfectly captures the essence of the Caribbean that continues to inspire me. There is something in the air of every place I have visited, a rhythm, a pulse, an explosion of color and life that speaks in a universal language.

Here in South Florida, every day feels like an extension of that world. The city hums in many tongues: Haitian Creole, Jamaican Patois, Cuban Spanish, Dominican and Puerto Rican accents, even the soft melodies of Papiamento from Curaçao. These voices weave a cultural tapestry that influences how I see and feel everything. It is as if each word, each rhythm, each color has become part of my creative DNA.

When I look through my camera lens, all these experiences, Italian elegance, Caribbean vitality, Asian harmony, and the modern spirit of Miami, converge. The result is what I hope people see in my photography: a reflection of the beautiful collision of worlds that shaped me.

My art is my way of saying thank you to Florence for its heritage, to the Caribbean for its heart, and to South Florida for giving me the space where both can coexist and bloom into something uniquely mine.
